One
World Championship point for Andrea Cervellin in GP of
Italy 29-04
Andrea Cervellin of the SKS Polned TM Factory Team has
scored a World Championship point at the third round of
the World Championship MX2 series in Fermo, Italy. In
the first moto he was fighting for the points and
finished the race in twentieth position. In the second
moto he made a crash in the start and tried to come back
as far as he could. He finally finished in 21st
position and didn’t score points with that.
The circuit in Fermo was difficult on Saturday. Because
of the sun the track became really dry during the day.
Andrea set the 21st fastest time in the pre
qualifying session and was hopeful to do better in the
qualifying heat. Unfortunately he took a poor start and
had to come back through the field. During the race he
made up some positions and finally finished the race in
20th position.
In the first moto he took a decent start and came out of
the first lap in 19th position. His riding
went well till a rider crashed in front of him. Andrea
was able to avoid him but his radiator shroud hit the
bike of the fallen rider and got bent. It took him some
laps to get his rhythm back but he kept pushing and with
still three laps to go he moved up into 20th
position. Andrea made no mistakes in the rest of the
race and finished the moto in 20th position.
With this result he scored one World Championship point.
In the second moto he crashed in the start and lost a
lot of time. He started the race in the back of the pack
and tried to come back as far as possible. Andrea passed
one rider after another but his charge ended in 21st
position and with this position he just missed out on
the points.
Overall he finished in 25th position and
after three rounds he sits in 27th position
in the world championship standings.

Andrea Cervellin scores first World Championship points
in Bulgaria 22-04
Andrea Cervellin of the SKS Polned TM
Factory Team has scored his first World Championship
points of the season at round two of the series in
Sevlievo, Bulgaria. In the first moto he crashed in the
opening lap and finished the race in 26th
position. In the second moto things were going better.
Andrea was riding a great race and finished the moto in
seventeenth position. With this result he scored four
World Championship points.
After a good week of training Andrea
travelled to Bulgaria with a good feeling. After some
bad luck in the qualifying heat he qualified himself in
25th position for the race. The circumstances
were really muddy in the heat but on Sunday the sun
started to shine and because of this the circumstances
were completely different than on Saturday.
Andrea was motivated to do well in the
first moto. Unfortunately he collided with another rider
during the first lap and crashed. Andrea dropped back to
the back of the pack and had to start a charge back
through the field. The track was really fast and the
differences between the riders were really small. This
made it difficult for Andrea to make up positions. He
kept fighting during the race and finished the moto in
26th position.
In the second moto he started the race
just outside of the points. He found his rhythm straight
away and on his well prepared TM machine it didn’t took
him long before he had worked himself up into the
points. Andrea kept the pace as high as he could and
moved up to seventeenth position before the midway
point. In the rest of the race he was riding a
consistent pace and finished the moto in seventeenth
position. With this position he scored four World
Championship points.
Overall he finished in nineteenth
position and after two rounds he sits in 25th
position in the championship. Next weekend round three
of the series will be held in Fermo, Italy.

Andrea Cervellin gains more sand experience in the Dutch
Open in Emmen 16-04
Andrea Cervellin of the SKS Polned TM Factory Team
participated in the fifth round of the Dutch Open
Championship Series in Emmercompascuum last Sunday.
Cervellin was riding this race to gain some more sand
riding experience. In the first moto he made a strong
comeback after a poor start and crossed the finish line
in seventeenth position. In the second moto he was
charging through the field as well but unfortunately he
had to lower the pace because an old back injury gave
him some problems during the race.
After the bad luck at the Dutch Grand Prix the engines
were checked at the TM Factory in Italy last week and
after some small adjustments the problem was fixed.
Andrea flew from Italy to Holland on Saturday to
participate in the fifth round of the Dutch Open
Championship Series in Emmercompascuum to gain some more
experience in the sand.
In the first moto he started outside of the top 25 and
had to come back through the field. Andrea was riding a
good pace and had a nice rhythm going while he was
making up positions. In the middle of the race he moved
up to seventeenth position and managed to held on to
this position till the chequered flag waved.
In the second moto he was charging through the field
again but unfortunately he got a lot of pain in his
back. This is an old injury because last year he had
broken his back. Andrea didn’t gave up and decided to
lower the pace so he could make it to the finish.
The TM machine was doing a great job in Emmercompascuum
and the team is really happy about this. The SKS Polned
TM Factory Racing Team will now travel to Bulgaria for
round two of the World Championship Series.

Bad
luck keeps Andrea Cervellin pointless in Dutch Grand
Prix 10-04
The new SKS Polned TM Factory Team has worked really
hard the last couple of months to be ready for the first
Grand Prix of the season in Valkenswaard. With a special
thank to TVE Sport everything was looking nice at
Valkenswaard. A lot of relations and sponsors were
invited to come over and watch the first Grand Prix of
the season. For some it was the first time that they
were on a motorcross race. In the hospitality they got
the change to meet each other and the members and riders
of the team together with some drinks and snacks.
Despite all the hard working from the last weeks the
team didn’t scored the results they were hoping for.
Andrea Cervellin was well prepared but got a small
mechanical problem in both motos and because of this his
bike was loosing power. Andrea was forced to retire from
the first and the second moto.
Andrea is getting more comfortable in the sand and
started the weekend with a lot of self confidence. In
the qualifying heat he was riding inside of the top
twenty but made a crash and dropped back to 37th
position. The Italian rider didn’t gave up and started a
charge back through the field. During the race he
managed to pass several riders and finished in 34th
position.
Because Andrea had to start from the outside he didn’t
took a good start in the first moto. He came out of the
first corner in the back of the pack. He gave everything
he had and managed to pass several riders. In the
beginning of the race he got a small mechanical problem.
His bike was loosing power and after several laps he was
forced to retire from the race.
Andrea was motivated to do well in the second moto. His
start went a little bit better this time but again he
had a lot of work to do to come back inside of the
points. Andrea passed several riders but got the same
mechanical problem as in the first moto and had to
retire from the race.
The engines are back to the TM Factory for a check up.
The team will keep on working and all the members are
hoping for more luck in round five of the Dutch Open
Championship Series in Emmercompascuum this Sunday.

Five
Dutch Open points for Andrea Cervellin in Mill 25-03
The SKS Polned TM Factory Team has had mixed fortunes at
round four of the Dutch Open Championship Series in
Mill. Andrea Cervellin was riding a strong first moto
and scored with a sixteenth position five Dutch Open
points. In the second moto he was riding inside of the
points as well when he injured his back and was forced
to retire from the race.
Andrea scored his first Dutch Open point one week
earlier in Heerde and was motivated to score again
points in Mill. The track in Mill was sandy again but
Andrea has ridden a lot in the sand the last few weeks
so he starts to feel comfortable in it. Andrea took his
time in practice to get used to the track. When the time
practice started he gave everything he had to put a fast
lap together. In his seventh lap he set his fastest time
and ended the session in 23rd position.
In the first moto he had some difficulties in the first
lap and at the end of the lap he came by start/finish in
30th position. Andrea started a charge back through the
field and managed to pass a lot of riders. Especially in
the second part of the race he made the difference and
managed to finish the race in sixteenth position.
In the second moto he was riding inside of the points
again but unfortunately he injured his back and was
forced to retire from the race.
Because he didn’t score points in the second moto he
finished in 21st position overall. In two
weeks time the SKS Polned TM Factory Team will
participate in the first round of the World Championship
Series in Valkenswaard.

Andrea Cervellin scores one Dutch Open point in Heerde
18-03
Andrea Cervellin of the
SKS Polned TM Factory Team has scored a Dutch Open point
at round three of the series at Heerde. In the first
moto Andrea lost some time because some riders crashed
in front of him in the first corner. From the back of
the pack he finally came back to 23rd
position. In the second moto he took a better start and
finished the race in twentieth position.
The track in Heerde is a
deep sand track and completely different than the track
in Halle. In the week prior to this race Andrea
practised a lot in the sand to be prepared for this
race. With a lot of self confidence he went out on the
track in practice. In the beginning of the session he
was looking for the right lines. When he found the lines
he tried to put a fast lap together. Andrea did several
fast laps and finally ended the session in 23rd
position.
The first moto started
with some bad luck for Andrea because in the first turn
some riders crashed just in front of him. Andrea started
the race in the back of the field and had a lot of work
to do to come back. During the race he passed a lot of
riders and finally he finished the race in 23rd
position.
In the second moto he took
a better start and came out of the first corner around
tenth position. In the first lap he wasn’t riding the
good lines and because of this he got passed by a lot of
riders. At the end of the first lap he came by
start/finish outside of the top twenty. During the race
his riding started to go better and he was able to pass
several riders. After a consistent moto he crossed the
finish line in twentieth position.
Overall he finished in 27th
position. Round four of the championship will be held in
Mill nexy Sunday.

Andrea Cervellin gains experience at the Dutch Open in
Halle 11-03
Andrea Cervellin of the SKS Polned TM Factory Team has
gained a lot of experience of riding in the sand at the
second round of the Dutch Open Championship Series at
Halle. Because of the shoulder injury of his team mate
Nick Kouwenberg, Andrea went earlier to Holland than he
had expected to test and prepare himself for the first
round of the World Championship Series in Valkenswaard.
The circuit in Halle was well prepared and with a lot of
nice jumps the riders had a nice time on the track. In
the strong field of riders with many Grand Prix riders
Andrea set the nineteenth fastest time in time practice.
In the first moto Andrea had some difficulties in the
first lap and had to come back trough the field. He
started a charge and managed to pass several riders.
Unfortunately after some laps he ran into some more
problems and was forced to retire from the race.
Andrea was motivated to do well in the second moto.
Again his start wasn’t good and at the end of the first
lap he came by start/finish in 28th position.
Cervellin was riding a consistent pace and tried to come
back. In the first part of the race it was difficult to
pass riders but in the second part of the race he worked
himself back up to 22nd position.
Unfortunately he didn’t score championship points with
this position.
Next week round three of the Dutch Open Championship
Series will be held in Heerde.

Nick
Kouwenberg will miss the first round of the Dutch Open
Championship in Oss 02-03
Nick Kouwenberg of the SKS
Polned TM Factory Racing Team will miss the first round
of the Dutch Open Championship Series in Oss. Nick
showed his potential at the Starcross in Mantova but
unfortunately he crashed in the second moto and
dislocated his shoulder. Nick had a MRI scan this week
and things aren’t looking positive for the rider from
Elshout. There is some damage in his shoulder. Nick goes
to another doctor for a second opinion on Monday. The
team is hoping for positive news but as it looks now,
Nick will be out for several months.
Because Nick isn’t able to
ride at the Dutch Open races, the TM factory decided
that Andrea Cervellin will race the upcoming Dutch Open
rounds. Cervellin will start training in the sand next
week. This is an ideal situation for him to prepare
himself for the first round of the World Championship
Series in Valkenswaard.
Andrea Cervellin thirteenth overall in Italian
Championshuip race in Montevarchi 26-02
Andrea Cervellin of the SKS Polned TM Factory Racing
Team finished thirteenth overall in the first round of
the Italian Championship Series in Montevarchi. Andrea
was fit again after an illness which kept him of the
bike at the Starcross in Mantova on Sunday.
Andrea started the day with the sixteenth fastest time
in time practice. The differences between the riders
were really small because Andrea was only a half of a
second slower than the twelfth fastest rider.
He was motivated to do well in the first moto. A strong
field of riders were behind the starting gate for moto
one. Andrea rode a consistent race and crossed the
finish line in thirteenth position.
In the second moto the MX2 riders had to ride against
the MX1 riders. Unfortunately Andrea was forced to
retire from the race after eleven laps.
Next weekend round two of the Italian Championship
Series will be held in Pietramurata. Dutchman Nick
Kouwenberg wasn’t able to race in Montevarchi. He
dislocated his shoulder at the Starcross in Mantova and
needs to rest with his shoulder.

Mixed feelings for the SKS Polned TM Factory Team after
Mantova 19-02
The SKS Polned TM Factory had misfortune at the
Starcross in Mantova, Italy this weekend. Nick
Kouwenberg qualified himself in third position for the
race but dislocated his shoulder in the second moto and
had to sit out the third race. Andrea Cervellin
qualified himself without a problem for the race on
Sunday. Unfortunately he got ill and decided to sit out
the races on Sunday.
For the SKS Polned TM Factory Team the race in Mantova
was the first race of the season. Nick felt himself at
home during the practice sessions on Saturday and
managed to set the eight fastest time in time practice.
Andrea set his fastest time at the end of the session,
which was good enough for fourteenth position.
Both riders were motivated to do well in the qualifying
heat. Nick took a great start and came out of the second
turn in third position. He found his rhythm straight
away and after several laps he took over second
position. Nick was riding a comfortable pace but got
passed again and dropped back to third position. In the
rest of the race he was following the second place rider
but couldn’t make a pass stick and crossed the chequered
flag in third position. Andrea took a decent start and
went into the first corner around tenth position. In the
beginning of the race things were going well for Andrea
and he was riding in eleventh position for a while. In
the second part of the race he lost three spots and
finished the race in fourteenth position. This position
was good enough to qualify himself for the races on
Sunday.
At the end of the day Nick had to ride the superpole.
Nick tried everything he could to put a fast lap
together and finally set the third fastest time.
Unfortunately the team received bad news on Sunday
morning because Andrea was ill and decided to sit out
the races. The day started with a 1 vs 1 competition.
Nick won his first run and he was leading his second run
as well. Unfortunately he made a mistake and jumped out
of the corner. Because of this he lost his run and was
out of competition.
After this competition Nick had to ride three twenty
minute motos. The MX2 riders had to ride together with
the MX1 riders. On his MX2 bike it was difficult to take
a good start and he came out of the first turn in the
back of the pack. Nick started a charge back trough the
field and managed to pass one rider after another. After
a well ridden race he came back to fifteenth position.
In the second moto disaster struck the young Dutchman.
After a crash during the first lap he was charging back
trough the field but soon after things went wrong for
him. On the face of a triple jump a rock was in the rut
where Nick jumped. He lost the control over his machine
and crashed. When he hit the ground he dislocated his
shoulder. This was the end of Nick’s day. He went
straight to the hospital to put his shoulder back in
place. On Monday he will fly back to Holland to visit
his doctor. Normally an MRI scan will be made on
Tuesday.
The team’s next race is the first round of the Italian
Championship Series in Montevarchi next Sunday.

Movie: Nick Kouwenberg on the factory TM 26-01
Dutchman Nick Kouwenberg and the Italian Andrea
Cervellin are teammates this year in the SKS Polned TM
Factory Team. Both riders will go out in the World
Championship MX2 Series. Nick Kouwenberg is currently in
Holland and is busy testing the TM machine. The rider
from Elshout is really enthusiastic about the bike and
feels himself really comfortable. Today we visited Nick
during a practice session in Almere.
Van
Beers Racing in a new structure back on the highest MX
level with the TM MX2 Factory Team
Adri van Beers, who has had a long involvement with motocross as
team owner, recently announced that he would put his own team on ice
and join the CLS Kawasaki MX2 team as team manager. This arrangement
was however abruptly ended by the CLS team, and Adri hastily had to
find a solution to quench his motocross passion.
An arrangement was quickly reached with SKS BV director Toine
Uijttewaal. SKS BV was closely involved in the previous van Beers
team as sponsor. Both principals are passionate about motocross and
also want to contribute to the development of the sport. Toine
Uijttewaal will part time assist with the team structure, future
strategy, marketing – and sponsorship management. Adri van Beers
will take care of all operational activities, riders coaching and
the smooth running of the team as full time team manager.
Shortly after the team principles had finalized the structure of the
team, they concluded an agreement with the Italian TM factory to run
the MX2 factory team through their structure. TM shares the passion
for motocross, and are dedicated to produce quality competitive
motorcycles ready for top level competition.
The team will be called SKS-Polned TM Factory Racing, and
will host the following two MX2 GP riders:
- Andrea Cevellin (IT)
- Nick Kouwenberg (NL)
The team is also currently in negotiations with a some European
Championship riders in order to expand the team. The team will be
based in a new 250 square metre facility in Valkenswaard (NL). In
close cooperation with the TM factory, the team principals are
aiming to put the new team on the map in 2012. On the long term the
team wants to expand with support of international sponsors, who
want to associate themselves with a professional team appearance and
this fantastic MX sport.
